WELCOME to Libertys 8th Birthday Carnival Party!
It had everything but a bounce house and petting zoo! … which I found at a good rate after the party….darn. Most everything is Dollar store bought, cut with my cricut, or things we had around the house. The most expensive thing was probably the games and prizes, which came from oriental trading, so they were still cheap! The hardest part of this party was the labor, and I was 7 months pregnant at the time!
The party took place on our back deck and yard which was transformed to a carnival.
I made large balloon archways for the entrances of our deck. My older niece hung the streamer from the tree growing in our deck to various points to created a cool ceiling. There are also lights strung for when it gets dark.
For the food area I hung plastic table cloths behind the table and some curtains to hide the house and create the area. The table blocked the way to the kitchen so the people in charge of food could go in and out behind the table. We used a bandana table cloth to decorate the table. Good thing about a carnival is you can mix and match colors!
All the kids got a bag for their prizes at the ticket booth (which doubled as a photo booth) with tickets for each game. We had booths set up in the back yard. I used plastic table cloths for the backdrop for each game. Each game required tickets had a carney(or family member) to take the tickets and help the kids with the game.
The picture makes everything look really spaced out, but it was all close together.
The balloon darts has two large cardboard boxes covered in pink plastic table cloths, and the balloons pinned to it.
Kids had to guess how many Kisses were in the jar at the kissing booth.
We had face painting which my artistic niece did and a driving range!
The bean bag toss was made out of green bean cans wrapped in paper, homemade bean bags and some plywood and 4x4’s making a slanted board.
We had a bulls eye game, with a target and BB guns.
Spray away with water guns, ping pong balls, and golf tees.
Everyone had a great time playing games!
We also had a “go fish” game were they caught prizes with a fishing pole behind a sheet, and a hay ride with a tractor and trailer. I have no pictures of these things though! 
We used the ticket booth as a photo booth, I bought photo props from the Dollar Store. That’s my son & me in the first photo and my niece who was the birthday girl in the 2nd. The booth was made out of a refrigerator box that was wrapped in wrapping paper and lined with red tablecloths inside.
One of the best parts of the party was the cotton candy!!
For supper we had hot dogs, corn dogs, BBQ chicken sandwiches,chili, and coleslaw. It gave people the option to have chili, a sandwich, or a fancy hot dog with either chili or coleslaw. I made crock pot tutu’s out of tule to put around the crock pots to help them blend in on the table.
The biggest surprise of the night was the sprinkle birthday cake, which was an even bigger surprise when we cut it and she saw the rainbow cake!
Hope you find inspiration from my carnival birthday! Besides the hard work of executing the party everything was easy to do. It was all made ahead of time for low cost or no cost.
